Time Zone

The online conference will be conducted in the Melbourne, Australia time zone. Melbourne is on daylight savings time in February (AEDT or UTC+11:00). Please ensure that you check the time difference for your location (see https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html).

General Registation

Registration includes all all conference and workshop activities during including access to videos of session after the conference has closed.  

Presenter Registration

An acceptance of an abstract does not constitute an offer to for registration costs associated with the conference. Similarly, no speaker fee is paid to successful participants.  All speakers must register for the conference and forward the appropriate registration fee before 31 December 2020 (unless otherwise arranged).

Student/early-career/retired/enthusiast registration

The conference organisers may ask for proof of entitlement for those registering at these discounted rates. If in doubt, please contact the organisers, via email before registering.

Developing Economy Discount

AMOS seeks to engage scientists from countries with developing economies (CDE) by providing a certain number of registrations at a discount rate. This rate is offered to residents of countries approved by the American Meteorological Society Council based on WMO and World Bank data.  Click here for a list of eligible countries.   To apply for this discount rate, please contact amos2021@amos.org.au.

Limited places

Registration places are limited and will be allocated in the order that applications are received. You will be notified immediately if a place is not available, and any payment made will be refunded in full.

Payment Policy

Payment of registration fees must accompany all registrations. All fees include GST.  No registration will be confirmed until payment is received.  Abstract fees incl GST and are non-refundable. Payment can be made by the following methods:

Credit card

Visa and MasterCard are accepted.  If you are making a credit card payment from a country outside Australia, for security reasons you may need to first advise your banking institution of the impending charge and authorise them to allow the charge to Australia to go through. Please note that charges to your credit card will appear as being from “Australian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society” on your bank statement.

Please include your surname in the transfer and email the transfer receipt (remittance) to the email to the AMOS Conference Secretariat.

AMOS 2021 Code of Conduct

All attendees must agree to adhere to the AMOS 2021 Code of Conduct during ALL activities relating to AMOS Annual Conference 2021.  All attendees must also agree to adhere to the AMOS Code of Conduct. 

Registration Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be made in writing to the AMOS 2021 Conference Secretariat at amos2021@amos.org.au. Cancellations received prior to 8 January will receive a full refund minus a 25% administration fee or a substitute delegate will be accepted. Cancellations received after 5pm AEST on 8 January 2021 will not be refunded however a substitute delegates will be accepted.  Application for refunds in exceptional circumstances after 8 January 2021 will be considered and details should be forwarded to the AMOS 2021 Conference Secretariat at amos2021@amos.org.au.

All best endeavours will be made to present the program as detailed on this website. The Conference and its agents reserve the right to alter without prior notice, any of the arrangements, timetables, plans or other items relating to the meeting, for any cause beyond its reasonable control. AMOS and the Conference Organisers are not liable for any loss or inconvenience caused as a result of such alteration. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, AMOS and the Conference Organisers do not accept responsibility for loss of monies caused by delays. Participants are advised to take out personal insurance and to extend their policy to cover any travel and personal possessions. AMOS does not cover individuals against cancellations of bookings.

Publication of information

Presenters'/Delegates' names, organisation, position, email address, biography, photo and abstract details as entered during abstract submission and registration process may be published on AMOS 2021 conference app, website program, conference contact list, abstract book or included in conference proceedings.  Please ensure that you have not provided any personal email addresses.
